How Pregnants collects, uses, and protects your personal and health information.

Who we are
Pregnants is a mobile app that supports people who are trying to conceive, pregnant, or partnering with someone who is. The legal entity responsible for this policy is Deepsify.com, LLC. You can reach us at privacy@pregnants.com.
What we collect
We collect only what the app needs to work for you. Data groups below are opt-in wherever they aren't strictly required for account creation and sign-in.
Account data
Email, hashed password, display name, profile photo (optional), locale, and time zone. Required to create and secure your account.
Health and pregnancy data
Cycle dates, last menstrual period, ovulation and fertile-window signals, pregnancy week, due date, mode (TTC / Pregnancy / Partner), symptoms, mood, weight, belly photos, and any journal entries you write. Used to compute your personal timeline, coaching, and biomarker trends.
Wellness Scan data (opt-in)
When you run a Wellness Scan session in the app, we capture a short green-channel remote-photoplethysmography (rPPG) trace derived from your camera. The raw video frames never leave your device and are never stored — the app extracts a numeric trace on-device and uploads only that trace. From the trace we compute heart rate, heart-rate variability, respiration rate, and derived stress metrics.
AI conversations
Messages you send to the in-app AI coach, plus the prescriptions and summaries the coach generates. Used to personalise future coaching and to improve safety guardrails.
Couple / partner link
If you link with a partner using a 6-digit code, we store the link relationship and a bounded, mutually agreed slice of your journey (e.g. cycle day, fertile-window state, pregnancy week). The partner does not see private diary entries, private fertility signs, or raw health metrics unless you explicitly share them.
Device and app-diagnostic data
Device model, OS version, app version, crash logs, and error traces. Used to fix bugs and to detect abuse. Crash logs are stripped of personal content.
Marketing analytics
We do not track you across other apps or websites. We do not sell or share personal information with data brokers, advertisers, or social-media platforms.
Special treatment for Wellness Scan data
Wellness Scan sessions are opt-in on every use. You see and confirm the consent screen before each scan. The raw camera video is processed in memory only and is never uploaded or stored on our servers. The rPPG trace and rejected-session diagnostics are retained for 90 days for signal-quality auditing, then automatically deleted. The derived biomarkers (heart rate, HRV, respiration rate, stress score) are retained for the lifetime of your account so we can show trend charts, and are deleted on account deletion.
Shared with your partner
When you accept a partner link, the specific fields the partner can see are shown on the linking screen and again in Profile → Couple link. You can revoke the link at any time; from that moment your partner sees no further updates. Fields marked "private" on the linking screen — including private diary entries and, in TTC mode, individual fertility signs — are never shared.
AI processing (Claude by Anthropic)
The in-app AI coach is powered by the Claude model family from Anthropic. Your AI messages, plus the minimum health context needed to answer them, are sent to Anthropic through our backend. We do not send Anthropic your email, real name, or account identifier. Anthropic processes these requests to generate the AI response and does not train future models on your content. Anthropic's own privacy terms apply to their processing role.
How long we keep your data
Account and health data are retained while your account is active and for up to 30 days after you request deletion, so we can honour recovery requests. Wellness Scan rPPG traces and rejected-session diagnostics are retained for 90 days. AI conversation logs are retained for 12 months. All of these windows are shorter or equal to what regulators require us to keep.
Encryption
All personal and health data is encrypted at rest with AES-256 and in transit with TLS 1.3. Wellness Scan traces and AI conversations use the same encryption. Encryption keys are managed by our infrastructure provider and rotated on a scheduled basis.
Your rights
Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you have the right to access, correct, delete, export, and restrict processing of your personal information. You can export a full copy of your data through the app's /me/export endpoint. To exercise any other right, email privacy@pregnants.com. We reply within 30 days.
Account deletion
You can delete your account from Profile → Delete account inside the app, or by emailing privacy@pregnants.com with the subject "Delete my account". Deletion cascades to all account, health, Wellness Scan, AI conversation, partner-link, and diagnostic data associated with your account. We reply within 30 days per GDPR Article 17.
Children
Pregnants is intended for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 16, we will delete it.
International data transfer
Your data is processed in the United States. If we transfer data across borders — for example, when the AI coach calls Anthropic — we use safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, or the equivalent framework in your region.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when the product or our processing practices change. Material changes are announced in the app at least 14 days before they take effect, and the effective date at the top of this page is updated to match.
